Jewellery is very difficult to sell online. Not because people want to shop it in person, but because prices change constantly with the fluctuations in precious metals and jewellery inventory is usually quite low per piece.

Rutledge Jewellers decided that there was one area that was worth putting online – their estate collection. Estate jewellery is vintage (or pre-owned) jewellery that is either owned by Rutledge Jewellers, or sold on consignment. Each piece is unique and the quick turnover is what makes it very desirable. Once a piece is gone, it’s gone.

What originally began as a separate e-commerce website, the Shopify site quickly turned into the entire website with services pages, various jewellery brand representation, custom design inquiry forms and of course, the ability to shop one-of-a-kind vintage pieces online (or reserve for in-store pick-up).

Grace, of My Perfect Cookie, had already invested in professional photos which made for exceptional content. She had a Shopify site which was working well technically, but believed the site could perform better with a fresh look at the layout, the customer journey and the hierarchy of content. We chose new hero text, a stronger call-to-action and re-jigged the navigation to give this site a new lease on life.

Fast Eddie Racewear, a division of Fast Eddie Authentic Apparel, focuses on the Canadian racing industry and outfitting not only the driver, but the entire team. The decision was made to give this audience their own website and so the process began...

The new site would split off the racing gear from the main Fast Eddie Authentic Apparel business, but still allow teams to get their crew wear and crew accessories from the same place. Helmets, firesuits and shoes are available to view online in addition to custom crew t-shirts, jackets, hats and more. 
 
There are two types of purchases processes that occur with the FER customer. One type of customer wants to book an appointment to try on the gear and get assistance in person in making those decisions. The other customer knows exactly what they want and they want to be able to quickly see if it’s available. The new website caters to both. 
 
With some excellent footage provided by Paton Racing and a complimentary design of text, graphics and photos, we were able to drive the message home that Fast Eddie Racewear is serious about racing.

Our objective was to create a website that accurately mirrored the vibrant and joyful ambiance that greets you upon stepping into Quaker Dental.

Our goal in rebuilding the Quaker Dental website focused on carrying over the positive welcoming atmosphere from the office to their online presence. Our aim was to build a site using large scale images, bright colours and text to minimize the traditional clinical atmosphere that comes with most dental websites. By keeping the pages and content at a minimum, we are able to provide a seamless navigation for patients seeking specific information in regards to first time visits, appointment scheduling and service details. The Quaker Dental team contributed a wealth of imagery and content allowing us to significantly enhance the site’s visual appeal.

As the weekend of Springtide 2022 came to an end, we had already started on a new website to be used for the launch of the 2023 campaigns. Built in WordPress, we wanted to update the functionality to allow for more of a structured hierarchy of content and a seamless experience for ticket purchasers to get information before and after buying their tickets for the event.

Festival goers reference the schedule several times during the course of the weekend so it had to be easy to view on mobile but also carry through the strong design by Tania Senior that is used throughout all the existing marketing. There was a lot of pressure to live up to the existing material and provide a great user experience for this well-loved annual event. After the launch of the new site, the 2023 festival attendees (and organizing committee) embraced the new site and continue to add new content as the event progresses into 2024.

This Shopify store required a clean, streamlined design that could showcase the well over 200 products and provide an easy shopping experience for customers. Products change over twice a year, therefore the process of uploading/updating needed to be easy to execute in a timely manner. 

The GM Canada Store existed as a Woocommerce/Wordpress store for several years but when Shopify began to dominate the ecommerce landscape in the start of 2020, it was time to make the switch. With several brands under the GM banner, the key with this store is to allow the customer to find what they need easily. The breadth of categories are easy to find – both within the navigation and on the product category page where you can toggle from the left sidebar to locate other options.

Retail fashion and Shopify go together so seamlessly that it was the natural next step for Woods Clothing to make the jump. In addition to a much-needed ecommerce store during the pandemic, the Shopify POS provided an easy way to manage inventory and process purchases both in person and online.

The team at Woods Clothing have fully embraced the benefits of Shopify by creating new collections regularly, discounting products to move inventory and creating unique selling opportunities like the $20 rack.

In 2014, we were approached by the Township of Uxbridge Economic Development Advisory Committee to create a print piece to provide information that would entice businesses to choose Uxbridge as a place to open or move to. We strove to create a piece that was colourful and made the data and information easy to consume.

The resulting 8.5×11 brochure was used by the Town, the BIA and the Economic Development Committee for several years.

There’s nothing quite like home for the holidays and that’s why we always have so much fun designing the Uxbridge Holiday Trail brochure. The Uxbridge Holiday Trail encourages residents and visitors alike to see our little town come to life with the magic of the season. Featuring beautifully decorated storefront windows, musicians, specials at local eateries, strolling characters and of course Mr. & Mrs. Claus, the Holiday Trail is a great family friendly event to get you in the holiday spirit.

In 2022, the theme of the Holiday Trail was ‘Holidays Around the World’. We brought this theme to life by adding a modern spin on traditional Christmas colours and featuring colourful illustrations as a nod to a variety of different holiday traditions. In addition, we applied stamp and postcard borders to the images in the booklet to visually express how the event allows you to travel the world without leaving your hometown. The inside of the brochure displayed a custom map of the downtown core to ensure trail goers didn’t miss a single destination.

It was an absolute delight to design this brochure and then see it all in action while exploring the Holiday Trail ourselves! Thank you to the organizers, local businesses and entertainers who put together such a special festive activity for our community.

Bob Henderson

Bob Henderson is a local writer, speaker, educator and travel guide. Bob has such a warmth to him and lights up any room he’s in, so we feel very lucky to have worked with him now for many years! Bob first came to us for help designing his website and although the site was launched back in 2017, it has stood the test of time and still looks great even after all of these years thanks to its classic design and beautiful travel photos.

More recently in May 2022, Bob released his latest book – Paddling Pathways: Reflections From A Changing Landscape. Paddling Pathways is a collection of 21 essays featuring authentic experiences and perspectives gleaned from paddling throughout Canada. The book challenges readers to shift their perspective on what paddling means to them. Though book sales are no doubt important to any author, Bob had a bigger picture in mind – he wanted to reach people with his message. His goal was to get readers to rethink the language that we use to tell our stories and show them how these honest experiences demonstrate that even the ordinary can be extraordinary. Through a mix of Bob’s travel photos and custom graphics, we temporarily took over his organic social media and shared some of the most thought-provoking quotes from the book to help Bob encourage others to rethink the common narrative. The result was an authentic and engaging feed that delighted readers and nature enthusiasts of all types!
